Hospital studies and complete technical projects

Our first dive into this field was a series of studies for hospitals in Tripoli. We based our research on European standards, adapted to local requirements, and conducted numerous case studies on best practice examples.

One of the completed technical projects we were involved in was a County Emergency Hospital in Romania. It brought together a large team, and coordinating it proved to be a significant challenge. A brief description of the design is provided below:

Contractor: Leviatan Design

  • The project contained the main hospital building with rooftop heliport, a multi-storey parking facility for 270 vehicles, ambulance garage and maintenance facility, infectious waste neutralization building, general and medical utilities building.
  • Total inpatient bed capacity: 460
  • Medical and Surgical Departments and Units: General Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Diabetes, Nutrition, and Metabolic Diseases, Hematology, Oncology, Urology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Neonatology
  • Other medical and related facilities: 9 Operating theaters, ICU and Special Care Departments, Emergency Department, Sterilization Unit, Maternity , Medical Testing Laboratory – including Microbiology, Hematology, Toxicology, Immunology, and Biochemistry, Physical and Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, Pharmacy, Functional Explorations including Endoscopy, Imaging and Radiology Laboratory
  • Total built area: 60.000 sqm
  • Challenges: BIM coordination of all design specialities; Patient, staff and material flows in compliance with epidemiological safety requirements; Strict standards and regulations for departments with high complexity, such as the operating theaters, radiology or pharmacy; The use of suitable materials and design details specific to the medical field.

We develop these days, with the same team and contractor, another challenging project – Infectious Diseases Hospital, with more then 50.000 sqm built area and arround 300 inpatient bed capacity.
